North Coast Region is Region 4, hence all Appliance Callsigns commence with 4. The following two digits denote the Station Number, and the Alpha character denotes the type of Appliance.

Example of Appliance Type:-
A = Rescue Pumper
B = Rescue Pumper
C = Non-Rescue Pumper
D = Non-Rescue Pumper
K = Emergency Tender
L = Technical Rescue

(Before I get Flammed - those descriptions are straight out of a QFRS publication)

Regional support vehicles, such as your Mike Uniform 12 have a Callsign commencing with an Alpha character - such as M (Mike) for North Coast Region, B (Bravo) for Brisbane Region, or C (Charlie) for Central Region.

Mike Uniform 12 is a Utility vehicle belonging to North Coast Region, and probably Area 1s second utility.

Most of this information has been posted on this Forum in the past, so a read through the archives should answer your questions.

Comint has answered your question, have a reread of what he posted

If say Buderim was called out to a RTC the call sign of the responding truck would be

4 / 71 / B <----------471B
Area / station / Unit type

Area = North Coast
Station = Buderim
Unit Type = Rescue tender

thats how the callsigns are used, and depending on what trucks are in those stations is what the callsigns are

Hope that made things as clear as mud

(thats how I understand it works)
Cheers

Whilst I don't have a list of the North Coast vehicles, this is the way it's set up.

For Senior Officers (any callsign that has XXYY (X being a letter and Y being a number))
Region 1 (Northern) - November
Region 2 (Central) - Charlie
Region 3 (South West) - Whisky
Region 4 (North Coast) - Mike
Region 5 (Brisbane) - Bravo
Region 6 (South East) - Echo
Region 7 (Far Northern) - Foxtrot
State - Quebec

And then their second letter;

A - Area Director
C - Community Safety
D - Rural District Vehicles
G - Spare
I - Izone
O - Operations
P - Planning
Q - State Vehicles
QR - State Rural Vehicles
S - Support
T - Training
U - Utility

Then for the appliances, it goes as follows YYYX (Y being a number and X being a letter) so for example it would be 475A.
4 - North Coast Region
75 - Kenilworth Fire Station
A - First Rescue Pump

The 4 refers to the region of the appliance

1 - Northern (Townsville)
2 - Central (Rockhampton)
3 - South West (Toowoomba)
4 - North Coast (Kawana)
5 - Brisbane (Spring Hill)
6 - South East (Southport)
7 - Far Northern (Cairns)
8 - State Appliances

For station numbers refer to here.

And the letter refers to the type of vehicle it is and it's use.

A - First Rescue Pumper
B - Second Rescue Pumper
C - First Non-Rescue Pumper
D - Second Non-Rescue Pumper
E - 4WD Pumper
F - HAZMAT Pumper
G - Turntable Ladder
H - Hydraulic Platform
I - Telescopic Ladder Platform (TLP)
J - Telescopic Aerial Platform (TAP)
K - Emergency Tender
L - Technical Rescue
M - Command and Rescue Unit
N - Spare
O - BA & HAZMAT Response Unit
P - BA Support Unit
Q - HAZMAT Support Unit
S - BA & HAZMAT Support Unit
T - Command & Control Unit
U - Communications Unit
V - Bulk Water Tanker
W - Bulk Foam Tanker
X - Facilities Unit
Y - I-zone Appliance
Z - Spare

Hope this answers all your questions :)
