As for the 97, because it was commissioned when the (now) 81's were 91's it was called 97. Now since all the changes in callsigns,it has been reverted to 91 but no new stickers.

Because it isn't a front line emergency vehicle. Always on a delayed response.FirefighterDown wrote:No lights or sirens = no fun :p

Slightly off topic,
I drove past a QFRS semi the other day and it had the lights on the truck.
I find it funny that QFRS would deck out "most" of their equipment (probably due to licensing or insurance reasons) with lights but the RFS does not apply the same rule....

QFRS deck their non emergency trucks out with lights for insurance yes. Fleet 972 (I think) is a tilt tray used for carrying containers and it has lights on.
As for rurals, I don't know. I'll try and find out for you.

interesting to see how the poles that have the antennas on go in a wind. Does not look like much support there at all.

Well it's more or less a rural thing. It doesn't necessarily have to be a front-line vehicle to have an emergency package. One could argue delayed response vehicles should still have the package on them. But whatever floats their boat. RFS gets things differently then other states.Stretch wrote:Because it isn't a front line emergency vehicle. Always on a delayed response.FirefighterDown wrote:No lights or sirens = no fun :p

The choice for no lights was a group decision not QFRS or RFS. It has been mentioned that the units should have emergency lights to navigate through traffic at the fire ground. It also needs a green command point light

Re: RFB - Gold Coast 91
the qfrs semi's and tilt trays can also become a large tanker in the case of the semi or in the case if the tilt tray i belive they have diferent types of container pods set up for different use eg ba hazmat or i think kitchen you would need some one else to cofirm that though that are some uses it could be used for and as some one pointed out red lights are good for use on firegrounds etc

No 528V does proceed under lights and sirens. Seen it before on the Gateway at a truck fire. Was such a sight to see it weaving in and out of traffic sirens blaring.fire_rescue wrote:mechanics vehicles uses red and white lights. Have seen the semi tanker at 28 lights only used on fireground
