Re: [SA] - Police radios sold, used illegally
The big problem with this is that anyone with a credit card and an internet connection can purchase commercial radios with high power output and flexible frequency programming which means that people who have not done any training and have no education in safe radio use and non interference radio use can still get access to radios which have the higher power and can cause interference. Listening to my scanner set there have been times when I have heard someone come over trying to interfere with the police frequencies. Obviously they were transmitting on the repeaters output frequency because VKC did not seem to know about it but then as soon as they stopped transmitting I head the police unit come online and advise VKC of the interference.
