517J was at 17Station as i drove by not long ago with 517A/K there as well.

where they place a TAP they have to have a kilo because the taps dont have any rescue gear

Actually the refitted TAPs have flash new battery operated "Lucas" rescue gear on them which works as well as the hydraulic gear but more mobile. A forerunner to future rescue gear on pumpers by the looks of it. And the TAP thats going to 31 wont have a Kilo with it. Theres talk of a lima going there until the station at petrie is built but that looks 5-10 years away given the current state of the budget.
Just an update on the TAP movement too. The TAP from 2 STN is going for its refit early this year and thats the one earmarked for 31 STN. I have no idea where the one going to 16 is from.

Well at the end of last year there were 2 TAP's at Varley for a refurb I'd say one would have been for 17 station but the other one I have no idea where it was from or going to

The second one is going to 16 but dont know where its from. The third one is the TAP from 2 STN which is going for refirb soon and its going to 31

Well 502J (Roma streets) is going to 16 station and they are make one for 31 now.

There is a spare one from when Cairns replaced the tap with a bronto lp. The one for 31 from Roma St would be 293. I dont know where 297 is located but i think is the spare. During the 1/2 life service they may have all been changed around.

Stations that should have one include: Southport (290), Wishart (291), Townsville (292), Roma St (293), , Gladstone (294), Mackay (295), Toowoomba (296), +spare (297)

fleet 297 might be the one going to 16 then. Boys at 2 say theirs is definitely going to 31.

Found out the Tap being refitted for 16 STN and due any day is actually from Toowoomba. Don't know what Toowoomba is doing for aerial support now. Do they have an LP?

oops mistook the pic i'd seen. 290 is marked for chermside as 516J. Painted also in new liverty.

Toowoomba's 0296QF still there sporting old full red livery.

the boys at 16 have been told its the refurbed TAP from Toowoomba. the TAP from 2 is going to 31 next.

to expand on my comments above.
i have seen a photo of fleet 290 in the upgraded livery wearing a 516J nameplate on its door.

At the same time a report of the toowoomba tap still at its home station. That has now been updated with the toowoomba tap missing.

if the TAP came from Toowoomba would they get a new one because if you take the tap from toowoomba
South west region would have no aerial appliance
