Nah the reason they opened Kippa-Ring was to replace the Redcliffe fire station. Redcliffe fire station was used to accomdate the Redcliffe QAS a few months ago while they were building the new Ambulance station just down the road from the old Redcliffe fire station.

Plus Kippa-Ring is a suburb under the town of Redcliffe so only one fire station. I dont believe they are pulling down the old Redcliffe fire station instead using it for something to do with the Redcliffe library dont know how long that will be until that happens though.

Fire Station Opens - Redcliffe and Bayside Herald

Theres a link mate explaining why it was opened apparently it will improve response times to isolated pockets like Scarborough.

That would sound about right because they had approx 5 Minutes response to Clontarf, Margate and right the way to the Houghton Highway Bridge and yet it took them longer to get to some areas. do we know where abouts they are located now.
