New Local Ambulance Station

Kate Jones’ efforts to secure a local ambulance station in Ashgrove have paid off with a $2 million facility to be built at 680 Waterworks Road.

The new ambulance station represents a significant increase in services to local residents.

It will operate 24 hours a day, and is expected to provide two ambulance vehicles and 16 paramedics.

“Currently, we are being serviced by Roma Street Ambulance Station. The new station will be much closer and will reduce response times,” said Kate.

Phil Anderton, President of The Gap Chamber of Commerce, also welcomes the new development.

Like Kate, Phil believes a good site has been chosen.

“As a disused petrol station the site has been an eyesore for local residents for many years,” Phil said.

“This ambulance station will be in a highly visible and handy location for everyone in our community.”
