North Coast is too far outta my range but if you google Scanscope, connect a scanner up to the computer and it decodes all the sellcall numbers for you. I'll show you an example when I get home

Re: QFRS Selcall numbers...
at the end of each unit Tx ther is a tone sent out, this program decodes that tone.
after 21 days you have to pay for it 50 euro's I beleive after that to make it work

Re: QFRS Selcall numbers...
I brought it as thats helping me chase the fleet numbers (QFRS) that I haven't got. Currently not using it as I've got back into Pager Decoding but I've just set it back up and trying to get it to work again

Heres a screen shot. 10499 means its fleet 499 (being 640M) and you can see the CTCSS tone of the channel.

Re: QFRS Selcall numbers...
qfrs do this because they have an asigned station and appliance type so an incident controller knows from where they are gettting a truck and what type of truck they are getting at that incidentalinco21 wrote:Why would QFRS call a truck 499 but call is 640M?

Re: QFRS Selcall numbers...
499 is the Fleet Number (for inventory management), and those digits also appear on the vehicle Number Plates.alinco21 wrote:Why would QFRS call a truck 499 but call is 640M?
640M is the appliance callsign, which indicates that it is from Region 6 Station 40, and the M denotes it is a Command and Rescue Appliance.
Appliances, particularly Pumpers, do not spend their entire lives at one Station, and could in their lifetime operate under a dozen, or more, different callsigns.
