Runs 317A, 317V. Got told there's usually always someone there so had my hopes up of getting some appliance shots but no no one was home.

You have posted some shots of this Station in the past, shortly after it opened. Maybe you need to get them together in one post.Stretch wrote:Runs 317A, 317V. Got told there's usually always someone there so had my hopes up of getting some appliance shots but no no one was home.

They were blurry. Those were when I was new to photogaphy and was still learning how to use the camera (and it was a crappy little point and shoot and the flash wasnt working and it was low light so the images became blurry) that was years ago and I've learnt heaps and got a new camera (two new cameras) and I called by the station Monday to get some better photos. ive also deleted that postComint wrote:You have posted some shots of this Station in the past, shortly after it opened. QFRS - Station 17 (Highfields) South West Region (Region 3)
The station was built for the future, because the Highfields area is expanding, and as far as I'm aware, and from my fire-fighting friend, I think they were considering a permanent station but there's a 50/50% chance that it may go permo.
I've got some in station photos of 317a from about 2 months ago, haven't had time to post them yet. Will soon.
Does anyone know if 317v was new when they moved into that station or if they've always had it.

I have some new shots of their new truck, a SCANIA with the hose reels above the front lockers, and some other shots of inside the station and trucks.
Now runs 317a (Scania fleet 1205), 317b (Isuzu fleet 9??) and 317v (Isuzu fleet 891?)

No, it's for the future, apparently Highfields is the same size as Warwick. It's an AWESOME rig...dmint3 wrote:is station 17 permanent now ??

Most Auxilary stations didn't have scanias because a lot of the older ones are type 4 pumpers.dmint3 wrote:is station 17 permanent now ??

The newest scanias are type 3 pumpers, same as the mercs.

Ok I'll bite where is there a new type 3 merc.dmint3 wrote:ok

The newest type 2 and 3 pumpers have a mid mounted hose reel 3 lockers either side and nothing you really on the roof to be more OHS friendly.
Ipswich is using fleet 1206 or Brassals new pump, and they have a new type 2 as well for harrisville only it's fixed. fleet 1203 or something.
Port Douglas Auxilary have a scania as well, ill get a fleet number next time I visit.

i got told that they where making a few of the new scanias to try them out.
when i was doing work experience in at 2 station last year ( Because i am only 15 ) i spent a day in Kemp Place
and met the person in charge of the fleet and he told me the they are rolling out both Mercedes and Scanias.
also where is 645M going once the Ipswich closes is it going to Ripley or Brassal

Re: QFRS - Station 17 (Highfields) South West Region (Region
they are giving the new type three scanias to auxs cus they have more gear on them and they then dont have to wait for a permanent crew for incidents tgat require the gear but not further crews etc.
