QLD pagers almost vanished?

Post by Scannersplitterguy »

Have pager freq's 148.5625 & 148.6375 MHz been decomissioned in southeast QLD in the last few days?
Since Tuesday, I have only received about 30 messages in PDW.....all from FIRECOM, nothing else.
I've checked the freq's with 3 different receivers and there is absolutely nothing 99% of the time.

Well they did say or were supposed to be finished by 31st Dec 2020. Still getting plenty in Central Queensland for all FIRECOM and Turnouts.

I saw messages from QLD Health stating the service will be decomissioned by 31/12/2020. I incorrectly assumed it was only QLD Health.
Times are changing...

The whole Vodafone messaging network will soon not exist. They are migrating those who can be to alternatives. Too much money for not enough use (sites, licencing, power etc). Why pay a lot when you can migrate to a 4G solution

I'm getting what appears to be some new hospital stuff on 148.8125 but as far as 148.6375 I'm not even getting firecom messages anymore. Very unfortunate.
