I've heard a "rumour" that NSW Police Marine Command are instigating a simplex link on the SAR channel (VHF 06) for the whole east coast of NSW. I'm not sure when it's happening, but the theory behind it is VMR and SLS units can contact Marine Command direct on ch VHF 06 from any coastal location in the state! Will be interested to see if this rumour has any truth to it!
