Qantas Motorola 400 MHz trunking question

Post by rredbeak »

With the Base Freq at 463 Mhz and the Channels similar 464-466.
Then why was i getting the CORRECT Tgids on 411 & 412 Mhz,But NO audio on Scan. Went to Manual [the preprogrammed 464-466 Chs] And had full audio but i was on a single ch [not scanning]

The TGID showed up,display was 411 and no audio. Now im sure its programmed right and the squelch disables on scan so i thought alls good

Please help tell me where im wrong.

Cheers Rod

More information.
What scanner, Offset.
Are you using a Trunk-tracking scanner, or software decode.

Yea,Good point. Sorry bout that.

Scanner is the DSE 96 HH

The Freq's were all taken off BrisbaneScan / Trunking/qantas Site including offsets

"Base Frequency: 463.0000 MHz
Step: 25 kHz
Offset: 500
Connect Tone: 105.88Hz

Channels

464.3250
465.6250
465.9500
466.1750
466.5250 "

The INFO ON Brisbanescan IS 100% correct.

Im doing something wrong here in my programming.

Confusing part is on scan theres no audio with the KNOWN audio tgids.

Cheers Rod

PS i was atfirst within a 100M of the Apt Terminal then maybe 5 Kms away.

The frequencies, etc., are actually posted on this fourm.

Don't know about programming of a DTS96.

The Trunked Radio Site is on the other side of the Airfield to the Passenger Terminals.

cant be too much wrong as the 800MHz trunking is fine and ive set the baudrate correctly i think,Ill change it and see.

Ones 3600, the other 9600 cant recall which one for 400MHz motorola.

But its easy enough to find out.

They are both Motorola Smartnet, so they are BOTH 3600.

Thats because scanner manufacturers lump APCO P25 (which is 9600) in with Motorola.

Motorola Smartnet is ONLY 3600.
