Hi everyone,
I was chatting to a country RACV patrol through the week & he was saying that there is a random guy going around beating the patrol vans to roadside service jobs including back streets where it wouldn't be just a chance ran across.
He said it was happening a few times a week.
Could that person be intercepting the jobs that are sent to the patrol's PDA?
If so does the RACV use a paging system similar to the Ambos, CFA?
Cheers

Re: RACV MDT
simple answer NO !!!
they use an MDT type system , the system has an ability to page short range i think !! ie from the car to the drivers house when on duty ,
one of my next door neigbours was an RACV driver , he had a little antenna gizmo on his front veranda , and have a little pager type device while he was inside ,
i dont know much more about the system than that

They have a 3G palm/pocket PC everything is transmitted over the internet as my brother uses one. You need to log in ect to receive jobs
