Mudgee/Kandos Police Frequencies (Digital?)

Post by RadioKid »

Hi all
I regularly travel to Mudgee through Ilford, Kandos and Rylstone. I wanted to know the police frequency for that area. Have they gone digital? I only have a Baofeng so I can only receive analog transmissions.

Cheers

it is highly possible that your area is now Digital with Encryption, it is the NSW Police's aim to have the whole state covered by Digital with Encryption to ensure a secure communications platform

if it is digital, it wouldn't be encrypted in that area yet. I think there are a fair few channels in that area that are still analog anyway.

Enjoy the 78Mhz while it lasts

77.7750 Baldy Peak Cumber Melon Range Kandos
77.8000 Mt Misery, Flagstaff Hill, Baldy Peak Cumber Melon Range Kandos
77.8500 Flagstaff Hill
77.8875 Mt Misery

The 468Mhz digital frequencies for Mudgee/Kandos have been posted on ACMA a few months back but it may take some time before it upgraded due to limited field resources
Once digital is introduced then it will be a matter of time sorting out reception issues before encryption is switched on.

468.4250 Mt Misery, Mudgee
468.6750 Flagstaff Hill
468.9750 Gulgong
469.2375 Ulan Coal Mine
469.2750 Baldy Peak, Cumber Melon Range, Kandos

Still analog. In Lithgow area they use VHF

VHF
77.8125 - Braceys Lookout Lithgow
78.2000 - Braceys Lookout Lithgow, Hassan Walls, Mt Lambie
78.4125 - Hassan Walls
78.5000 - Mt Lambie

There is a high probability that Lithgow cars also have Zone 2 encrypted UHF radios fitted as the Blue Mts LAC adjoins
